Due to the recent events of Tropical Storm Debby in our northern tier in late summer, it has opened up the Commonwealth for a newer disaster funding stream through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) – Flood Mitigation Assistance Swift Current Initiative. The Commonwealth of PA will be receiving a maximum of $20 million in federal funds under this program.
This funding is administered very similarly to the annual FMA program, however, Swift Current only becomes active after a Presidentially-declared disaster.
